Living Intentionally

I'm so excited right now!!  I'm literally bursting with so many ideas and plans.  What a great feeling, but also slightly overwhelming.  My mind is racing and connections are happening, but it also feels as if the excitement and pace of the excitement is strong arming my need for organization.  Yikes!!!  Ok, this is were the checklist comes in to full and vital use.  However, I think checklists can be a double edged sword.  On the one hand they are super useful, and might I say extremely helpful!  But on the other hand, when you get too caught up in the checklist and making the checklist it can completely derail meeting bigger objectives.  It could even drive you to lose sight of the bigger driving force that caused you to start making checklists in the first place.
I find myself in an odd, but productive limbo.  I am in between positions at work, but that hasn't stifled my drive.  Albeit it be not at work, but in my personal endeavors.  So back to why I am so excited.  I have shared in earlier posts that I am looking ahead to what the future might hold for me beyond the military.  With that said I have committed myself to a yoga teacher training in the fall and I am starting to look for the Crossfit training I will take as well.  Although I haven't even gotten trained yet I am actively staying engaged in fitness and allowing connections with people to be made.  Just in the last 2 weeks I have started dialogue with a local Crossfit gym on helping get their Crossfit mom/family program off the ground.  And this all happened by happen stance.
It was last Monday and my friend Katie invited me to her going away that evening.  Of course I went and who should be there....the owner of Old City Crossfit.  Katie has a pretty good working relationship already as she is starting up their nutrition program.  Anyway, Katie made introductions and boom....dialogue starts and the journey to work together in creating something bigger has begun.  Have I mentioned how excited I am!
Also, in the last 2 weeks I have committed to becoming and signing up to be a Beachbody coach.  This journey actually started back in January when an acquaintance from high school reached out on a whim.  She saw something in me that she said she just had to reach out and see if I would be interested in taking the risk and becoming another coach on her team.  Beachbody is a online based workout regimen that allows folks to connect via the inter webs.  I have truly been so grateful for this connection, not just for the future of growing a fitness business for myself, but with my husband being gone for the last several months it is not always been possible to get away for a work out at the Crossfit gym or the yoga studio.  And with Beachbody I can do a workout right in my home.

Now let's get to the point of this post....Living intentionally.  I have said it before and I will continue to say it...God has given each of us a set of unique gifts.  And if we can hone in on those gifts and make them stronger and share them with others what a beautiful and happy place we can all be in.  I'm done trying to fit in box of what the corporate ladder is telling me I need to fit in to get ahead.  I am simply going to keep my eyes open, listen to what He is saying, as HE speaks to me through those around me with opportunities to use my gifts, my strengths.
I have started listening to a Andy Stanley's podcasts on leadership and he said something that just elevated this entire conversation even more.  He said that one of the biggest myths of great leaders is that they have no weaknesses.  When in fact, that is just not the case.  The reality is, is that great leaders know their strengths and weaknesses well.  They make their strengths stronger and they find those that are strong in what they are weak in.
OH WOW!!! So good.  I am loving this right now.  Continue growing those relationships around you and be open to the new ones that come.  You never know who God is sending your way.  SO you really NEED to lead with kindness in everything you do!!  We can't afford to be curt or crass or harsh with anyone.  Each person could be bearing a message tailored made just for you.  I don't know what message he is sending me today, but you can better believe I am going to make sure the pathways are clear and open to receive.
Living intentionally is just that!! Keep those pathways open and ready to receive the next step.  Don't forget to hold onto patience as the plans He has for you will not happen in your time, but they will happen in perfect time :)  And I am so excited and ready for what His plans for me are as I take each step He sets in front of me to build on my strengths and gifts!!!
