Ari's Diner

In an effort to add a little variety to my blog I am going to start posting once a week about the amazing food we either make or find in and around our city or travels!!

Kicking it off with an amazing place in DC!!!

What a delightful blast from the past. Set in the center of up and coming Ivy City DC neighborhood, this little diner does the trick for a great, inexpensive meal.
My husband and 2 young sons went on a Sunday morning around 1130/noon. We found parking on the street relatively easy. I wouldn’t recommend going any later on Sunday, as the crowds grew toward the end of our meal.
When we walked in it was like walking onto the set of 1950’s diner car; with wrap around bar seating and a row of about 7 booths (all very sizable). The only thing missing was they weren’t calling out orders. We found seats tucked around on one side of the bar and proceeded to order.
I think my husband and I were pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming choice of amazing food on the menu. We ended up going with the brioche stuffed French toast (ham, turkey, and gruyere cheese), avocado toast with black sesame seeds and pickled shallots, the 2 eggs with toast/sausage/hash browns), and for our 3 year old a healthy plate of eggs and toast. There were certainly more adventurous items on the menu, but we figured we would start with this, since we'll definitely be back! Let me just say….all our plates were completely empty when we were done! Finger
lickin good!

Stay tuned for us to share our thoughts on more of their fantastic menu! But definitely check this spot out if you’re in DC or looking to visit!
